I found a terrific site that gives all kinds of advice for teachers with limited technology in the classroom. It provides some useful ideas on how to include technology you may have (IE: computer) and make the best of your limitations. It breaks advice and ideas into grade levels so you know it will be age appropriate. It has lists of great websites for teaching, list of activities and other great resources. I will definitely use this site as much as I can.

I enjoyed this teacher’s class website. It is so well organized and would be great to get ideas from as I create my own website. I also liked that it helps to promote children’s creative work. I’m sure the children are thrilled to see their work displayed and a great way to motivate them and share their work with family and friends.

I found a great site that has cross curriculum games. The site is easy to search by grade level and subjects. The games found on this are fun and most can be done in quick amount of time. Good for time fillers or independent work in a classroom.

Squigley’s playhouse is a website that offers many different interactive games that are educational too! I particularly liked the math games and the typing practive games. These educational games are a great way to get kids out from in from of the T.V or video games. They are disguised as FUN, which means they won’t even know they are learining something.

Ask Dr. Science is a great site that allows children to submit questions. It also has a “question of the day” where it answers a question someone has submitted. Teachers can have the daily question emailed to them and it could be included in ones classroom. There is not much to this website, but the questions are good and it stresses the importance to never stop asking questions!
This is an interactive website that has daily challenging math questions that a teacher could use as journal time or to start off their daily math lesson.

Starfall is a site that offers books online that also include sound to them. I noticed most of the books are for beginners or those struggling readers. They are colorful and interesting. It would be a great alternative to reading a traditional book. I think it would also be a good motivator for those reluctant readers.
